The Australian Allstar Sprintcar series thundered through Heartland raceway on Saturday. Whilst thankful for the heavy rains, we did see a ~24 hour break in the clouds that allowed racing to fire up.
It was a huge field on a fast and sometimes slippery track.
The field leaders were ripping their 360s so hard, they gave the track record a hard nudge at just a few 1/100s of a second of the track record. Given Heartland comes in at a whopping 500m long, throwing the cars hard was producing times in the low 13 second region.
It was a fiery night, not everyone came out with their cars in tact but they all walked away to drive another day.
