When the Lucky Sevens roll into town, you can usually bet on chaos, carnage, and a little bit of heartbreak before the chequered flag falls. The VSC Unlimited Chassis Sedans started the night with a handy field ready to play their cards, but in what quickly became a race of attrition, only three managed to survive the shuffle and make it through to the final event. Some folded early, some got dealt a rough hand, and a few simply ran out of luck before the night was over.
On the upside for the photography side of things, the smaller field gave me a chance to slow down and experiment a little more creatively trackside. I spent some extra time working with PTZ-style panning shots, and a couple of the images almost make the cars look like die-cast toy racers tearing around a miniature speedway set. I’m hoping people notice the effect, because I had an absolute ball trying something a little different with the Lucky Sevens gallery this time around.
